What is The Field of Champions
The Field of Champions – the Turf Capital Campaign — is a collaborative fundraising effort between Santa Barbara Soccer Club and the San Marcos High School community and its Athletics Booster Club. A fundraising partnership has been forged to achieve the common goals of enhancing the quality of the playing field used by young athletes and community groups.
Young athletes will benefit greatly from this plan to replace the existing grass field with synthetic turf, a safe and more environmentally sound playing surface.
The San Marcos High School Puailoa Field is in urgent need of our attention! For the past 34 years each year the turf undergoes its annual downward spiral cycle from a decent grass field in September to a beat up, hazardous dust or mud bowl - depending on the rains in the spring. Our goal is to raise $850,000 to replace this costly-to-maintain and treacherous playing surface with a proven “ASTRO TURF” type of play field.

ALL WEATHER – EVERY DAY USABILITY
These fields are just as playable in a driving downpour as they are on a sunny afternoon. From a safety perspective, this is very important. No matter what the weather, athletes can maintain consistent footing on a stable base. Not only that, after years of use, our field still looks virtually brand new.”----Mark Wagner,
